Of course it’s an older show and some people think it’s silly — but still, there is a TON of stuff out there from the show Friends (you can still watch all the episodes on HBO Max — which is actually just called MAX now). You already know all these characters, but let’s look at Phoebe and Ross.

In this story, Phoebe gets Ross all riled up when she says:

“There are a lot of things out there I don’t believe in — but that mean they aren’t true. Like crop circles or the Bermuda Triangle or evolution.”

Boom. That’s it. That set off Ross. He took it as his personal mission in life (or at least this episode) to convince Phoebe that evolution is true. In the end, Ross brings some fossils to make his point. Here is their conversation.

Ross: In this briefcase I carry actual scientific facts if you will. Some of these fossils are over 200 million years old.
Phoebe: OK, look. Before you start, I’m not denying evolution. OK, I’m just saying it’s one of the possibilities
Ross: It’s the only possibility Phoebe
Phoebe: OK….Ross. Could you just open your mind like this much? Now, wasn’t there a time when the brightest minds in the world believed the earth was flat? And up until like, what — -50 years ago you all thought the atom was the smallest thing until you split it open…
