Han Solo: The Scoundrel We All Become as Adults.

I’m a huge Star Wars fan, I have been since I was young. Of course, Luke Skywalker was the coolest character. But as I become more mature (just a little bit), I start to see how much Han Solo reflects what it’s like to be an adult.

Oh sure, there was that whole “Han shot first” thing that showed that he knew the situation he was in with Greedo and the only way out was to ruthlessly shoot him first. Most adults aren’t going to do that. But there’s a bunch of other Han stuff that really resonates with me.

Taking an Insult / Compliment

Leia is not happy. She’s sort of pissed off about being captured and things aren’t looking great for the Rebels. She thinks Luke and Han are amateurs and way over their head in this whole rescue thing. The only thing that gives her comfort is the fact that Obi-Wan came with them. It’s her only glimmer of hope.

Oh, but check it out. They have a starship. It’s the Millennium Falcon. It looks like crap. How do you insult people that you need to work with? That’s when you get…
